What Is Solar Power?
Solar power is a clean, quiet energy alternative, that generates electricity by converting the energy found in sunlight. Solar power also helps the environment by preventing greenhouse gases from entering the atmosphere.
How does PV solar Work?
When the sun hits your solar panels the solar panels converts the photons (particles of sunlight) into electrons of direct current (“DC”) electricity. Once converted the electrons then flow out of the solar panel and into an inverter to then be used in your home. The inverter converts that “DC” power (commonly used in batteries and generally 12 Volts) into alternating current or “AC” power or 110 Volts.
Grid Connected Systems
The majority of of suburban homes and businesses are connected to the electricity grid which uses alternating current electricity (AC). However, the electricity generated by solar panels is direct current (DC), which means grid-connected or Grid tied solar systems need an inverter to transform the DC electricity into AC electricity. Homes and business with solar PV systems utilize solar power before acquiring electricity from the grid, they also send surplus power back to grid and draw power if and when needed.
Where does surplus power go?
Power that is not used is fed back into the grid. It is possible for you to make money by selling the power back to your local utility company. Call your local SuperGreen Solutions expert and learn how you can become a net positive client.
Stand Alone or Off Grid Systems
An Off-Grid system works by taking the DC electricity generated by the solar panels and feeding DC electricity in a regulator. From there the regulator controls the amount in which the deep cycle batteries are charged. 12 volt appliances can be run directly off the batteries or the current can be routed through an inverter which converts it to useable 110 or 240 Volts AC electricity, which is suitable for running standard home appliances.
Monitoring
SuperGreen Solutions offers multiple software for use on your iPhone, iPod, PC, and Android to keep track of your solar PV systems efficiency. You can track everything from how much energy is being generated, CO2 Emissions Savings, when your peak production hours are and also how much you are saving by using a solar PV system.
Installation
SuperGreen Solutions only uses Licensed & Insured contractors for all solar PV system installations.
