What is an Atmospheric water machine (generator)?
This machine draws moisture from humid air, much like a dehumidifier but, purifies/cleans the water through multiple filters and desiccants rendering the water potable or drinkable.
How does it work?
The most common type uses the same technology as your air conditioner, refrigerator or dehumidifier. Warm air is drawn into the machine, passes over a set of coils that are cooled by refrigerant. Because cold air can’t hold as much water vapor as warm air it is drained into a retention pan. The water then passes through a number of filters to remove airborne particles and bacteria. If the water sits in the reservoir for longer than a day it is filtered again to keep it clean and fresh.
How much water can an AWM produce?
The rate of water produced is dependent on the amount of humidity in the ambient air as well as the machines capacity to pass the water over the coils and cool it to its dew point thereby producing water. The sizes of these machines vary but, typically they can produce between 4-8 gallons of water.
Why use an Atmospheric water machine?
The fact is bottled water is at a premium and every day we throw away 100 of millions of plastic cups, bottles and containers.
- 5 gallon jugs used in offices average cost is between $5.00 – $10.00 per delivery.
- Bottled brand name water average cost is $0.50 and $5.00 per gallon.
